Almost every chapter speaks to a source of disunity in this church with so much potential.  Emphasizing the differences between ourselves negates growth and spirituality.

1 Cor 1:1-13  Introduction to a church with many divisions and internal conflicts to overcome

1 Cor 1:14-31 - Two opposing viewpoints in Corinth both were opposed to true wisdom.

1 Cor 2:1-16 - The true life saving message requires willingness to reject what we are attached to.

1 Cor 3:1-15 The methods we use to bring people to Christ determine their stability and longevity.

1 Cor 3:16-23 - Disunity is the one crime in which the church is both the perpetrator and victim of harm.

1 Cor 4:1-13 - Our goals will determine whether our service is sacrificing or compromising.

1 Cor 5:1-8 - internal flaws undealt with become contagious.  We have an obligation to be intollerant.

1 Cor 5:9-6-8 - Disunity unchecked reaches dramatic levels that do not speak well of us..

1 Cor 6:9-20 - impurity comes in different ways, all of them destructive. These sins are unique among all sins.

1 Cor 7:1-16 - The single life was intended to be practical, not a means to deify 'pious' Christian's by.

1 Cor 7:17-40 - eliminating circumstances that drive a wedge between us and God in extreme situations.

1 Cor 8:1-13 - several principles guide what we give up to preserve unity and protect those with weaker faith.

1 Cor 9:1-18 - Paul discusses his voluntary surrender of his rights, and explains that it wasn't required.

1 Cor 9:19-27 - The purpose, means and limits of Paul's sacrifice of both privilege and rights.

1 Cor 10:1-14 - Idolatry looks different from one era to another but it always has the same nature.

1 Cor 10:15-33 - Communion illustrates the difference between idolatry and unity. Serving self is never useful.

1 Cor 11:1-16 - The discussion gender roles was no less controversial in Paul's day.

1 Cor 11:17-34 - Paul explains how communion can become something that God doesn't recognize.

1 Cor 12:8-11 - The list of gifts, Their definitions and their functions.

1 Cor 12:12-31 - Individual abilities are distributed so that we work together to grow the church.

1 Cor 13:1-6 - The definition of Love focuses on what it does not do.

1 Cor 13:7-13 - Paul lays out the explanation of the term limits of the age of miracles.

1 Cor 14:1-25 - The modern charismatic movement misplaces the purposes and usage of these gifts.

1 Cor 14:26-40 - The assembly was designed for order and edification, not self-serving chaos.

1 Cor 15:1-11 - The basic gospel and the significance of the appearances

1 Cor 15:12-34 - There are a lot of consequences if Jesus didn't rise from the dead.

1 Cor 15:35-49 - Paul challenges the gnostic idea of a purely spiritual existence in the afterlife. 

1 Cor 15:50-16:24 - Paul looks to the future and transitions away from dependence on the apostles.
